to calculate execution time in Fortran 77

Dear Members,

I need to be able to obtain how the time my fortran code takes to
execute. Are there any special commands or keywords in need to use. Or
do i need to write a seperate subroutine.

Any help would be highly apperciated.

  • Re: OK, lets be a bit negative and look at what APL has not achieved !
    ... I forget to mention that THETA takes 4 hours to evaluate, ... what you've done is spread an inline expression over five lines, and substituted keywords for things like 'if', 'then', 'else', etc, which would be user-defined cover functions ... OTOH, "dereference and execute only when told to" code objects not only provide a more succinct and powerful form of expression with the same level of efficiency, but can be used to define just about every control structure known to man -- and more ... could be knocked together at the interpreter level with an "inhibit execution" operator, but I really wouldn't expect to see this getting implemented ...
