Because its the only USER process and as such it gets the CPU scheduler's
undivided attention to completing it ASAP,
Why would anyone want anything other than that?
If you start a 2nd copy of your process, note it gets equal attention and
completes at about same time.
In short, Windows scheduler is VERY sophisticated with its multi-thread
priority
setting capability and still does the RIGHT thing for your unwashed user
app.
(unix/linux doesnt even have multi-threads/app capability)
