If one exists, please recommend a free Fortran compiler which can
handle pointers of the form "pointer (pointer_variable,
targer_of_pointer)", called Cray pointers, according to Mr. Andy
Vaught. As of a few days ago neither of the free Fortran-95 compilers,
g95 and gfortran, at http://gcc.gnu.org/fortran/extensions.html,
supported Cray pointers. I think Cray Fortran 77 or cf77 probably
would support Cray pointers. But I don't know if one can obtain it
anymore. And if one could obtain it, would it be free of charge or
not? I don't know if the successsor to cf77, called, I think, cf90,
still supports Cray pointers or not, whether an individual can obtain
it or not, and, if so, if it can be obtained free or not. Thanks in
advance for information.
