How do I get PGPLOT to plot anything via "snapplot"?

    Hi all..

I'm trying to use PGPLOT for the first time and when I try to plot
anything at all using "snapplot" it returns an empty black window.

I am using an N-body package called NEMO and using that to call the
    PGPLOT libraries.

I'm using Redhat 9 and installed PGPLOT so that it uses the g77_gcc
    compiler.

I have changed the colour when opening a file using "colour=??", as
the default colour is "0" so I thought the problem may be that it was
plotting black-on-black, but independent of the colour I choose I
invariably get back a plain black window!

The most frustrating thing about this is that ALL the demos work, in
colour etc, and the other plotting options like "snapdiagplot" display
as they should using my own data but snapplot itself just gives a
    black window..

    Please help!

    Richard
