My words were not to be taken as an official position, but rather my (poor, I
guess) attempt to summarize. Reading the FAQ at
http://www.intel.com/software/products/noncom/faq.htm , I see:
Q. I am engaged in academic research. Can I use the non-commercial product?
A. If you, as an individual, are receiving any form of compensation for the
research project (i.e., you receive a salary, or funding, etc.), you do not
qualify for a non-commercial use license. However, you may qualify for the
academic license (Click to academic page
(http://www.intel.com/software/products/global/academic.htm))
This pretty much says you are not eligible for the free license, but you may
be eligible for the academic license. Please refer to the FAQ web page for
more information. In particular, you may want to check out the last item on
that page.
