Being in double precision has nothing whatsoever to do with parallel
processing. I was thinking more along the lines of OpenMP, MPI or PVM.
Do these names mean anything to you? If not, then might I suggest that
you look into at least one of them, in order to get the most out of your
cluster. Unless, that is, you're interested in using the cluster as a
parameter search engine.

Fair enough -- I'd probably agree. But you said in your original post
that your program ran twice as slow on the Opteron cluster. Can I just
ask what you are comparing here -- the Windows and Linux codes on the
same machine? Or different machines?
