The article Richard refers to is one that I am writing and if you want
to, I can
send you what I have right now - it is almost finished, I have to work
out a
few sections, but my conclusion is clear: you _can_ in fact implement
at least a number of these patterns in Fortran 90/95.
Whether you want to do that and whether they are enough in the typical
environment Fortran is usually used, I can not tell. I _can_ you that
the
literature as far as I have seen it, focusses completely on such
languages
as C++, Smalltalk and Java and ignores the historical development
of these patterns - except for the obligatory reference to C. Alexander
-
and to design patterns "avant la lettre" present in the venerable
libraries
we still use.
