I was given an old cray binary plot3d file to convert to IEEE to be
used by our Aero engineers. I have access to the PGI and INTEL
compilers on our linux systems. I tried using the CONVERT=CRAY option
in the Intel compiler, but it wouldn't read the file.
I'm surprised that it did not work with the Intel compiler. Did you
also use -real_size 64 (or -r8) to adjust for the usual Cray default
that REALs are 64-bits? If possible, please submit a support request
to Intel Premier Support and attach a .tgz of the data file and the
program that is supposed to read it (if you have a description of the
data layout, that will be especially helpful.) Ask that the issue be
assigned to Steve Lionel. I'll be glad to take a look.
