Re: How old is the average Fortran programmer?

Look at GINO Studio. It's a drag and drop GUI builder for Fortran.
I've tested it but don't use it, primarily because I find the GINO API
so easy as it is (about 800+/- routines, but most of the ones I need
routinely, I have memorized).

One of the main reasons I like Delphi so much is its powerful and very
simple database access capabilities. I don't think Gino or Winteracter have
these as standard, and the Fortran SQL libraries I have looked at have all
been pretty tortuous by comparison. The only signficant advantage (for me at
least) from using Gino would be the ability to do "difficult" scientific
charts - I havn't yet found a decent Delphi component or ActiveX control
that does things like non-gridded contour plots.

Lack of a cross-platform database solution is quite annoying to me. I've suggested that to the GINO developers but they're pretty insistent on limiting to graphics. It seems a natural companion to me though.
