Actually gfortran (on PC/Linux) fails compiling this piece of code
(not a problem for me, it was just a test of gfortran, which is not
my default compiler on PC).
What version of gfortran do you use? This code should compile well
with
a recent version (see http://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/GFortranBinaries to get
one).
Actually I can't tell. This is on my office desktop PC, and I'm now on
holidays ;-)...
