That's the rub. It probably wouldn't kill me to have a non-windows
partition. I've got a gentoo disk as well as a Caldera 2.2. I've got a
little bit of a budget too. Does Solaris come with a single executable

the install for intel architecture?

I'm not sure what you are asking. Sun's Solaris Developer Express
DVD contains both Solaris Nevada and Sun Studio, but not the
production versions of them.
I've taken up this issue at alt.solaris.x86, where I had the good fortune to
run into a buddy. Many of the downloads from Sun burn an image onto either
cd or dvd.
