On both machines I installed my copy of Lahey Fortran Pro 5.5 (LF9555). I also have an old Dell Dimension D8300 desktop with the compiler on it.What was the purpose of installing the compiler on each machine?

First M4300 came with a defective screen. Dell chose to send out a replacement system and have me return the original after I received the replacement.
This gave me the opportunity to determine that it was not a hardware issue as the problem occurred on both machines. As I indicated in my last post, Compaq Fortran behaves as expected - the M4300 is almost 3.5 times faster that the D8300 desktop. It thus appears to be a Lahey issue.
Harvey
Did you re-compile on each computer with different settings?
