Such pictures do not prove "Black Holes" exist, only that very dark
massive stellar objects can be associated with a matter ejection
mechanism.
As a Physicist I take such evidence as a strong indication that the
theory of an event horizon may be true, but then, I am also worried
that our current theories of gravity and relativy effects are not yet
totally correct. I suspect the inverse square law is not strictly
true, nor am I totally sure about the possible neutrino mass
contribution to the galactic angular momentum paradox.
I know nada about cosmology but sometimes muse about what these pictures
mean.
When I looked at http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap080110.html
I thought that possibly the jet(s) being produced by the spinning
super-massive black hole at center of this galaxy out its poles
is playing GOD and re-gurgutating NEWLY CREATED HYDROGEN GAS (my theory)
which restarts new star formation in its galaxy and elsewhere in the
universe. Is this a plausible theory?
