Sr. Firmware/Embedded Software Developer- Digital Audio Entertainment
Solutions

Job Description

Be Part of new product design and development. This is a brand new product
line so you will have opportunity to contribute significantly to its
specification and development. As a senior team member, some of your
responsibilities will include:

  a.. Develop embedded software/firmware using C/C++ for proprietary
hardware to stream audio and video over IP networks.
  b.. Write time critical, deterministic applications on an embedded RTOS.
  c.. Write device drivers for network interface and other proprietary
hardware.
  d.. Assist in integration and testing of custom hardware.

Required Skills/Experience:

  a.. BSEE, BSCS or equivalent
  b.. 2+ years of industry/company experience developing complex
multi-tasked network (UDP/TCP/IP) applications utilizing multiple sockets

Desired Skills/Experience:

  a.. 5 years of experience developing (C/C++) real-time embedded
applications is a major plus.
  b.. Experience with streaming media, 802.11, Universal Plug and Play,
SOAP, and XML is a huge plus.
  c.. Experience with DSP is a big plus.
  d.. Proficiency in the use of real-time debuggers, In-Circuit emulators,
and other test equipment (such as network analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.) is
a plus.

Embedded Software Applications Engineer- Consumer Audio Decoder Software Dev
Kit
-
      RESPONSIBILITIES:
        a.. Interface with customers to support their understanding and
customization of Consumer Audio Decoder Software Development Kit (SDK) for
use in their specific application.
        b.. Work with customers to understand bugs and suggested
improvements to the SDK.
        c.. Improve usability of software development tools through the
documentation of new SDK features and enhancements.
        d.. Write design specifications and embedded software for SDK
development, which includes new features, bug fixes, improved usability of
player examples, and system optimizations.
        e.. Develop, coordinate and provide periodic technical training
sessions to customers and distributor field application engineers.

      REQUIREMENTS:
        a.. BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
        b.. Minimum 5 years experience for BS (2 years for MS) in embedded C
and assembly programming with a digital signal or general processor
        c.. Ability to debug both hardware and software issues using tools
directly related to these tasks, e.g. debuggers, oscilloscope, in-circuit
emulators, etc.
        d.. Experience architecting and writing code for several features
within a system to include associated functional tests
        e.. Ability to develop and implement or port algorithms used for
processing of digital signals
        f.. Experience issuing software releases to customers.
        g.. Experience using ClearCase configuration management tools.
        h.. A working knowledge of the Parthus DSP core.

              b.. Write/port host level software to control Embedded IR
products.
              c.. Host level software includes IrDA protocol stacks and
proprietary protocols.
              d.. Work with multiple embedded/RT OSes.
              e.. Work with multiple embedded CPUs.
              f.. Help with development of embedded firmware on the
products.

            REQUIREMENTS:
              a.. Excellent embedded programming skills; Strong skills
writing and debugging assembly and C code;
              b.. 7 years real time embedded system software design
experience
              c.. Experience with communication protocols. Experience in any
of the following technologies is considered a plus - IrDA (not just
maintenance or support experience).
              d.. Mobile Phone Development, PDA Development, Digital Camera

                  The job entails designing and implementing new software
features for the audio decoding devices Software Development Kit, as well as
maintaining those designs. This is not a customer support position, but rath
er is a core software development position.

                  REQUIREMENTS:
                    a.. Excellent C programming skills
                    b.. Strong skills debugging assembly code
                    c.. 4 years real time embedded system software design
experience --(not just maintenance or support experience)
                    d.. ARM core experience a plus.
                    e.. USB, particularly USB2.0 experience a plus.
                    f.. SCSI protocol experience a plus.
