I am looking for a 802.11b MAC+PHY chip which must (1) Have an easy
software interface (2) be cheap.

Its been long enough for the chip prices to have dropped a little by
now. Just like the cs8900a and rtl8019as are the venerable 10bit
ethernet chips, whats their equivalent for 802.11b?

Hint: performance is not an issue.
