That's been my experience as well, here in the UK. It's also irritating if
they have items in stock but will only sell a reel of 3000, when one only
needs 20 or so to start with. After a lot of arguing I did manage to get
them to agree to split the reel and sell me 200, but even that was too much
for me. I found someone else to share the order but they only wanted 50, so
I gave up. Pity, because it was a nice device - dual voltage 100 mA LDO,
IIRC.
