Learning embedded coding, which uC?

I am teaching myself embedded programming as a career move. Could
somebody tell me which microcontroller(s) are most popular in the
industry right now? I've found tons of resources for eg: 8051, PIC, ARM
- but I'm not sure what's most likely to land a job.
