How hard it is to make Red Hat like embedded Linux (Monta Vista/Timesys)?

I would like to make Red hat Linux like Embedded Linux (Monta Vista/
Timesys) and load onto PowerPc platform, Does anybody tried this. Also
How hard it is?. Thanks.
