Most newsreaders (even tin and pine) thread messages properly;
the issue really isn't Google Groups. I really object to the
copious and gratuitous quoting of long messages in each and
every reply. We archive newsgroups, and message volume and
size is an issue not to mention how annoying it is to see long
multi-indented quotations on each and every reply in a long
thread.
