Has anyone made a version of the 87C552 which is flash based with ISP?
We have a product that uses this old micro and a designer has moved that
portion of the device into a new layout. We would love to be able to use
ISP to code it.
That's a good question - Philips have a blind-spot there.
IIRC, they once did a Flash QFP, but at a high price, as it was intended
as a prototype vehicle only.
So, there is no pin-compatible alternative, but there are
a number of functional supersets, depending on how many IO
you really need, package, and if it needs 5V compatible operation.
Look at these, for ADC, >= 8K, larger pin counts :
Silabs C8051F4xx : 5V, 32KF, 12 bit ADC/DAC, on chip debug, 50 Mips (but
less io), older ones with more IO, but not 5V vcc.
Philips P89LPC952 : 3.3V Vcc only, and 40/42 io, 8KF
Atmel AT89C51AC3 : 5V / EE / 64KF
ST uPSD family : 3V/5V models, Tons of code space, ADC
AD ADuC8xx

like an ICE is my only option.. been a while since I've needed one. :(
