Odd Walkman tuner problem!

I have a Sony Walkman WM-GX612 stereo recording walkman which
I recently got used. It has an odd problem with the digital tuner:
FM frequencies come up on the display as 76.0MHz - 90.0MHz, which
obviously is not right!

the radio stations' transmitting frequency from 88.0MHz to 105MHz
the unit thinks it's receiving and the frequency that it actually
is receiving. I cannot receive 90.0 to 105MHz at all with the
tuner.


Any ideas on what's wrong with the unit?
