Position: Staff Engineer - Firmware (full-time position)
Location: San Diego, CA (relocation from anywhere in the US)
Description
Responsible for developing innovative software solutions implemented in
a variety of wireless multimedia components. This responsibility
includes the full cycle of software product development from
requirement analysis and architecture to implementation and debugging.
You will also have a leadership role, contributing the project
planning, assigning tasks, and tracking team progress. You will meet
regularly with customers and vendors. In addition, you will be
responsible for evaluating, selecting, and ordering test equipment that
is most appropriate and cost effective for the testing and debugging of
embedded, real-time software. You will also contribute to the continual
improvement of company software development procedures.
Success Factors
· Min. 9 years of related engineering experience.
· A strong background in design and development of embedded software.
· Proficiency in designing code in c/c++, DSP assembly, and high
level macros.
· Experience with wireless standards Bluetooth, UWB, 802.11, and NFC
is a plus.
· Experience with CSR Bluetooth a strong plus.
· Experience with multimedia techniques and standards such as
streaming content, jitter management, signal encoding/decoding, VOIP,
MP3, AAC, ATRAC, MPEG, and JPEG is a plus.
· Experience with telecom algorithms such as echo cancellation and
noise reduction is a plus.
· Experience with network protocols such as TCP/IP, TDMA, and CSMA is
a plus.
· Must have strong communication and presentation skills.
· Must be able to work independently and in a team environment and
possess excellent interpersonal skills.
· Must be able to thrive in an environment where the market is
intensely competitive and the technical requirements are constantly
changing.
· In addition to excellent detail design skills, must have a strong
desire to directly impact the "big picture" product perspective.
· Ability to recognize and analyze problems and then develop and
implement creative solutions.
· Willingness to work in a very "hands on" environment.
