Re: Recommendations for tiny GSM module?
Currently, some of the Telit ones (such as theGE864-PY) are smaller,
but the motorola one accepts digital audio in (which is nice, because
I can preprocess the voice audio). Can anyone else recommend embedded
modules similar to these?

Several Telit Wireless Modules support a Digital Voice Interface which
can be used to transfer digital
audio data to and from the Wireless Module.
This interface can be used to connect the Wireless Module to a
Bluetooth device as an example.
Some of the Wireless Modules, have two DVI ports but only one can be
active at the time. The choice
of DVI port for these Wireless Modules depends on the use of the
alternate function of the pins of
each interface in other applications.
Please refer to the Wireless Module pin out section below, for the
available DVI ports.
The DVI can be configured either as master (clock output) or slave
(clock input) and works in burst
mode at 8KHz mono voice data.
Both the Audio Front End (microphone and loudspeaker) and the Digital
Voice Interfaces can be
enabled at the same time. In this mode, the analog (AFE) input is only
mixed at the output, not in the
uplink data
Volume on the Digital Voice Interface is controlled with the same AT
command as for the analog
interface like described in the AT Commands Reference Guide for the
Telit modules.
