What a mess, I suppose they will get a Second Life identity next as a

Intel announced they were going to have a presence in Second Life
recently. Presumably to capture the valuable opinions of all the
teenage compulsive masturbators working in embedded? ;P

LOL, I suppose that would be a waste, there are only PIC programmers
on 2nd Life

We followed the discussion and feel this is valuable information to
us. I would like to react on this topic, as I was personally
responsible for the development of the new NXP site.

I see basically 2 discussions, one about the introduction site
http://next.nxp.com and one about our company website www.nxp.com.

Let me first address the comments on http://next.nxp.com . After
launching the site last Friday, we removed next.nxp.com as entry point
for our website. It was just a fun element in the site that fulfilled
its purpose; generating interest and attention to our website.

We do appreciate, however, your comments and the discussion and we
have taken criticism on board in our thinking. We can also see that
some people saw this 'game' as a roadblock before entering the company
website. Well, we took the comments seriously and it is gone now.

The other part of the discussion is about www.nxp.com and the
involvement of engineers. Let me give you some brief background on the
process we followed. I agree that in general web designers do not know
a lot about engineering. That's why we based our new company website
completely on input from engineers. We had around 2000 engineers
closely involved in designing the site. The past two years, these
engineers helped us in getting a good, valuable insight in what a good
semi site should be about. That's why the new site (more than the old
one) is completely build around finding products, datasheets and
design support, directly solving many issues that engineers brought to
us with regard to our previous website .

Of course we are not there yet, we realize that. But we are working
very hard, closely in contact with engineers, to continuously make the
site better. That's also why we value the input that we receive (also
via our web form!) very much. It is read (and acted upon). The result
of this you will see in the coming months.

We appreciate this open communication and value the dialog. If you
want to be involved in making our website better, please feel free to
send your inputs and comments to our webmaster address:
webmaster@xxxxxxx
I assure you that we will read all your mails and that we will take
your comments in consideration when optimizing our new website. The
results you will see in the coming months.
