Remember MS Windows didn't have built in Zip support until XP
and there are still big corporates running significant numbers
of Win2K boxes. In order to reach them you'd have to supply a
CAB file or something.
This is pure silliness.
I have win2K and winzip, but the complaint is not OS related, it
is the browser/web that decides it needs to Zip, and save to disk,
before I can see the PDF, by then opening that Zip.
Just plain needlessly clumsy.
It does not always make the 'Zip this' decision, which I think is
trigggered by someone deciding to include a 'Philips is now NXP"
rah-rah sheet - that is pure silliness :)
[As if someone that deep in their website, does not KNOW that already ?]
My understanding of their reply, is they undertake to fix this.

It could be fixed very quickly
1. Remove all flash
2. Remove all extraneous javascript
3. Remove all java
[By now, one has removed 90% of the site]
Tweak it so it is decently fast.
