In reply to your question, according to the FlexRay protocol pg 22 the
transmitted signal by a node is actively driven to all other communication
nodes with the exception of the node transmitting the signal.

I have a question for you. I too would like to use the Fujitsu standalone
FlexRay MC and the Austria transceiver . How were you able to get a hold
of a few samples?
