One of my lecturers told me today that 74HCT hasn't been used for

...considering the 4000 family was introduced in the 70's.

What do you figure the odds are that the instructor is no older than the 4000 series?

Considering I'm about the same age as the 4000 series, I guess the odds are pretty high.
