Well, different people have different spamosity indices. I'd be okay
with any of the compiler announcements you mention if done politely; a
single posting, with a brief announcement of the release and vendor
contact info would, I think, be on topic and non-disruptive. Not like
it's the flood posting of "genuine gucci handbags!!" ...
