Hi there

sorry to burden you with this !

I am really stuck with an assignment for UML we have, he has given us
a huge paragraph and has asked us to use noun extraction on it to get
the classes and the relations should be simple, well that said, 3 of
us have struggled like mad on it for over 5 hours, and we only have
till Wednesday 4:00pm to get it finished! And the lovely guy only gave
us it today!

So after all my hard toil and strife, asking on IRC and other forums,
I have come to UseNet :)

here is what we have so far, as candidate classes

person

mother (extends person)

father (extends person)

Daughter (extends person)

Son (extends person)

LawnMower

Building

Tradesman / professional person (extends person)

where any person can mow the lawn, so there is a relation to the lawn
mower class which has a relation to the building class, but! A
tradesman / professional person could be a doctor or a dentist or any
other working person who might chare a fee or not, so there would be a
relation to each person so they can provide a service to them.

Now follows the paragraph we have been given to extract our candidate
classes from. We have derived the above from this sentence and this
sentence alone! ANY help anyone could give us would be GREATLY
received!!!!

Paragraph follows {

A family consists of a father (John), a mother (Jane), two sons (Peter
& Paul) and two daughters (Elizabeth & Mary). John is an actor and
Jane is a dentist. All the children are students and the family dog
is Lassie. Their family doctor is Alice. This family owns a house in
the suburbs. Mowing the family lawn is normally a chore for the
father. The children will also mow lawns if they are paid. Working
within the district is Jack, a professional lawn mower.

One morning, Jane notices that the lawn needs mowing, so she mentions
to John that it is time to mow the lawn. John agrees and says that he
will mow the lawn this evening. Later that evening, John comes home
exhausted from a long day at the drama studio and decides to pay one
of his children to mow the lawn. He asks Mary to mow the lawn for £5.
Mary agrees; however, Mary knows that Jack, a professional lawn mower,
will mow the lawn for £4. Mary therefore calls Jack who agrees to mow
the lawn that day. Jane comes home later that evening and sees the
lawn is mown. Thinking that John has mowed the lawn; she compliments
him on its neat appearance.

}

If anyone could suggest candidate classes and possible relations
between them I would be eternally grateful! If not any help at all
would be more than welcomed!!!

Huge thanks in advance

Brett :)
