Because it's dangerous.

The first rule of training is "You get more of what you
reinforce." Start paying special attention to your errors,
and your ever-helpful subconscious mind is likely to decide
that since you're so interested, it'll provide more errors
for you to count.

If you had some sort of positive outcome in mind--some
sort of reason that there was potential reward to compensate
for the assumed risk--you'd get a different response. Otherwise,
the rational response is, "Sounds interesting. You go first."
