No, i am dealing with server side object, not client side. If by "RAD
Tool" you mean a "Rapid Application Development" tool, then no I don't
think that would help.
OK. But my pushback from your description would be: Why does the server side care at all what the field is called in various client applications? It is the job of the client to provide the identity and view that the DB understands when accessing DB data.
In any case, my original comment about the identity mapping still applies: it is basically a table lookup problem. The table can be initialized from an external configuration file.
The particular mechanics will depend on exactly what problem your middleware is solving (i.e., what the "persistent objects" are and what you do with them). Are you given "persistent objects" by the client or do you you create them from DB tables or both? Are you doing anything significant with the "persistent objects" or are you just mapping between client and DB views?
