I do not think that is the correct link. It is OK. Perhaps someone
reading this message will tell us about it.
I am assuming (perhaps incorrectly) there is a general way to reach the
FAQ for any public group. If anyone could help with this, I would
appreciate it.

There is nothing wrong with the wording of your comment. Each group has
guidelines and should be followed.
