I am soon to embark on the development of a "lightweight web application" but I'm having trouble discovering what the term "lightweight application" actually means. It seems to be very much a buzzword than anything concrete.
I agree with Brad's response. I would add that to me a "lightweight web application" might refer to a pure data entry application that just receives and stores information from a remote site without actually doing anything with it. That is, the application doesn't apply any business rules and policies other than those to validate the user data.
