Let's focus on *business modeling*. For the time being, let's FORGET

cards, sales campaigns, etc.

I would like some practical examples of how OO, and polymorphism in
particular, helps with these domain objects/entities/things.

It's been awhile since I read it, but as I recall, Eric Evans had such examples in his book "Domain driven design". They were probably stripped down real life scenarios, but then - it is difficult (if at all possible) to present complex real life scenario, which took months of communication between client and developers, in a limited space.
