SQL is the best availible language for data management. Other
languages are better for other tasks.
Once again: prove it. Post an objective proof that SQL is better than
FDL. Post an objective proof that SQL is better than PFL.
Google and wikipedia does not give any relevant hits for FDL or PFL.
The level of "availibility" might be debatable.
Post an
objective proof that SQL is better than QUEL.
QUEL is a relational language too. I would not argue that SQL is
better. Only that SQL is commonly availible, and QUEL is not. There
are other relational languages, like Tutorial D, that are better than
SQL, but they are not availible in production environments.
Post an objective proof
that SQL is better than XQuery.
XQuery is a language for hierarchical data. The hierarchical model has
been abandoned for 30 years but has showed up in LDAP and XML again
showing all its disadvantages. If you want to learn the disadvantages
with the hierarchical model, please consult Wikipedia or some other
resource.
