Responding to cr88192...

<snip>

as I see it, the most important thing is probably "get it done" and "make
it work".

good grief. Is in 1966 again? We will beat the commies!

commies are a threat, just not as big of one now (or, at least in a enemy
political-power sense).

however, there is a far more subtle and insideous communist threat:
liberals... (with their opposition both to morality and also sane economic
practices...).

As a card carrying[*] Liberal I naturally disagree that librals are
against
morality (I'm baffled why anyone would think this!) and on the
definition
of sane economic practices.

[*] to my disappointment they never actually gave me a card.

for example, it may well be more important that the code be written
quickly,

I cannot believe this is *ever* true.

what if "doing it right" puts one behind schedule, and a specific schedule
has been set?...

it is just not right to go past schedule in this way, or if one must do so,
to expect others to accept late work without some sort of reprimand...

we are beginning to repeat ourselves. To me shipping crap is never
an option.
