But you are not representative of this newsgroup, and cannot be said to
speak on its behalf.

He appears to be posting from Germany. He also appears to be German. (Both
of those sentences represent educated guesses on my part; I cannot swear to
their accuracy.) Therefore, from his perspective, he is not posting from a
foreign land, but from his homeland.
