I'm not sure if I'm in the appropriate newsgroup so re-direction would be
appreciated but....
I am an amateur web-designer for a ladies rugby team. I have designed and
maintained their web-site using a mixture of self-taught html, and some
cribbed javascript. However, I have two new reasons for wishing to increase
the capabilities (complexities) of their site.
The first is the sheer amount of info on the site is becomming difficult to
cope with in html alone.
The second is that they are organising a charity event for which data will
need to be stored and some of it published on the web.
My intention is to create a database to store all the information, and use
this as the data source for my web pages. Unfortunately I have no idea how
to do this. After trawling the net I have found mention of using MySQL with
php, or MSAccess with .asp pages, and something about DreamWeaver and
ColdFusion.
Can anyone quickly explain what these are, and what might be the simplest,
cheapest, or alternative way to do this?
Thanks for your help.
Duncan
