Mine feel of the bookshelf (one from old PC) and never worked again.
All it did was tick tick tick tick.
I opened it up, could not find anything, pity about the data.
(Head still moved, but maybe chipped or so, dunno).
So maybe it depends in what direction the 300 G.
Backup is your resque.
