If the comparison is with Linux, it is true today and always has been.
For some tastes, a particular console might be better than a PC (though
note that many games appear only on a particular console, and those that
appear on several tend to be on PC too).
But it's hard to see how anyone could seriously think Linux stands
comparison with PC in this regard.
