It's really refreshing to see that point of view, especially in a
programmer's group. Only once, for a few months, in my programming
career, did I have to wear a suit, and it was great.
When I buy a shirt, and whole suit for that matter, I do it properly,
so wearing any part of it is not at all uncomfortable. I prefer not
to bother with a tie every morning, but still wear long sleeves and a
collar. I think it serves to separate my working and private lives.
I don't want to feel at home while at work, and vice versa.
