I have entered a Chinese out-sourcing company which take projects from
North America and Japan.
Now we are bidding for a VB.NET project. The project have about 60~70
forms. Database was already designed and we need do all the other
things (write design document,UI design, logic module design ,coding,
etc) . That's all the DETAILED information ( can be written down on
one page) I could get because the client refuse to give more
information.
Our company always bid $1500 for per man-month (senior software
engineer).
We have a seven-member-team (actually four, because three of those
seven members can do nothing but I can not fire them).
Now the key point is the man-month estimate of the project!
I thought the project at least have to take 30~50 man-month if and
only if all my team-members are TRULY senior software engineer.
My boss and the client forced me to accept the price of 14 man-month
in a telephone-meeting.
Now I have only two choices, to quit the company or to take the
project?
before my decision, I just want to know:
All the out-sourcing company bid this way?
If I take the project, what can I do to surivive?
BTW:
I am experience developer but have never worked for an out-sourcing
company
