In a newsgroup context, it means "off-topic" - i.e. not in accordance with

If you used to read Punch articles by Hunter Davies in the 1980s, you would
probably see it as "Old Trout", a regular and not very complimentary
reference to the delightful Mrs Davies. (I hope she forgave him!)
