(BTW, David, very good explanation of the "service market" idea.
Thanks. Of course, the idea itself is widespread, such as in some of the discussions at http://www.opensource.org/advocacy/jobs.php
It should be noted that some people use the catchphrase "software service" or "software as a service" to just mean the now-commonplace application service provider (ASP) model (the model of e.g. http://salesforce.com/ - bet that "No Software" logo would annoy certain people), but ASPs are obviously not exactly what I was talking about (not precluded by what I was talking about, either, mind).
But I think you'll get tired of arguing with certain people anyway.)
Already there. I believe it helps in reasoned argument if the other side can demonstrate some comprehension of your points. I have this nagging feeling that was absent, deliberately or otherwise, from certain replies to my posts. :-)
Yes, we don't agree with you, therefore we must be stupid. Us knuckle draggers get it, o powerful ones.
Basically this shows you can't win with logic, so you sink to insults. Its sad, you're sad, so we are done, I guess.
