What's it worth to you?

Does the answer to my post depend on it? Anyway, I am writing an application that needs to deal a lot with the underlying filesystem and I would like to see it working on Windows, Linux and Mac atleast.

My failed attempt (obviously) at humor.

You are not asking for a little code or help, your request is for an elaborate library of specific functionality with broad compatibility and assuming someone has already done it and will make it available to you free of charge.
