Code that is easier to understand, write, and debug is also
cheaper to write and debug. I would expect that anyone, whether
writing for commercial use or not, would understand that.

And I would think that anyone that has written an extensive
online site/book about balanced data structures would understand
that the alternatives are not too difficult to use in practice.
