Not here it doesn't (and I am using bash, with autocompletion).

Hmmm. Not in my bash it doesn't. And I've no idea why, either!

Possibly because it's an ancient bash, dating from 2000 or so.

I think it's a bash 3 feature. Bash 3.1 does it on my machine.

I have a feeling "*" "/" TAB TAB should work in older bashes. It would
be the logical behaviour of readline completion.
