Fortunately, I rarely need to use Windows nowadays. In circumstances where I
/do/ need to do Windows, I've generally found that either:
(a) I also have access to Linux, or whatever else I want, in which case it
doesn't really make much odds, or:
(b) I'm in an environment where they seem to think that "inconvenience" and
"security" are synonyms, so they stop you doing anything that might help
you get your job done more efficiently. :-/
msys beats cygwin flamewar in the making :-)
I have the same attitude to such a flamewar as a Liverpool supporter would
have towards an argument between supporters of Cheltenham Town and
Stranraer. :-)
