I just hope anyone applying to work on his team googles for his name first.

;-)

Consider him plonked.

That's good. You were nothing to begin with and I won't hear from your
dumbass again now will I.

You think that anything on the Internet and NG(s) means anything in the
long run in the world, you're just kidding yourself, if you think it
does. ;-)

I see you're just another follower.

The problem with thread, and so many others in which Duane
participates, as that he makes the totally unwarranted
assumption that the only person in the discussion with any
real-world experience is himself. c.p probably has a higher mix
of 'old-timers' and experienced, real-world active programmers
than all but a very few newsgroups. More than a few of us have
decades of production coding experience, design, project lead
and management work history. Judging by the posting history in
this group, that experience is a heck of a lot broader and
deeper than following the Microsoft "buzzword language of the
month club" book reading and course attendance curriculum during
that time period as well.

So, his attitude is not only unwarranted, but more than just a
bit arrogant. It's analogous to walking into a NASA engineering
meeting and telling everyone that they're morons because you
happened to be the first person on your block to assemble the
new Space Shuttle model from Hobby Lobby, and your choice of
model glue proves your vast superiority over the armada of real
experts in the room. I expect a certain level of arrogance and
what have you from an experienced competent programmer.

That said, the more experience people have, the better they
usually are at recognizing and admitting that others have skills
and knowledge as well. Duane appears to still be in that larval
stage where he thinks he knows everything and the rest of the
community are too stupid to recognize his brilliance.

Other than that, I don't honestly believe that anyone can make
accurate predictions about who would or would not be good to
work with/for based upon Usenet postings. Duane goes more out
of his way than most to convince others that he's not a team
player. :-) That's his right, more power to him, etc.
