I only want to gain some really-paid working experience from who (like
you) are in business stuff for more time than me.
I don't want to become an argue reason. I think I will ask about US $
3000 hoping the company won't laugh at me :)

$3,000 is chump change to them. It's a cost to operate and write off
money.
I am pretty sure they know how much it would really cost if they went to
a
contacting firm or a independent .NET programmer that had any experience.

My question is do you really know how to make a secure Internet facing
.NET
Web solution? Not saying that you cannot learn but do you know how to do
that.

Duane :)

The fact is that i made a desktop application, not a web one (which i
could do as well). The problem is not programming capabilities, but
commercial ones. I'm not saying i'm an expert programmer but at the
same time i'm not a no-experience programmer. The experience i need is
in selling the final product (choosing a correct price) and not making
it :)

Sales is all about creating an impression of slickness and professional
competence, when in reality behind the scenes all is chaos and crisis
management.

What you want to do, if you haven't agreed a price, is bill them. Break the
bill down a little bit so that they know that the amount ahgred is fair and
not just what you think you could get away with, but not so much that they
start querying items.

For instnace the biggest item will be the time you spent programming. So
bill that as
50 hours programming at $xxx per hour - xxxx dollars

However if the company was employing you they would have to pay for
computer, office space, electricity, and so all. All of these things are
expensive. So they won't be surprised to see an item
Computer hardware / software, studio space, consumables

Don't break it down further. It might be that your computer cost 1,500
dollars six months ago. You can get an adequate one for 500 dollars. You dont
want them fussing about this level of detail.

Similalarly, you spent some of your time administering the contract. Maybe
your mum does your tax. If you went to their place and back in your car that
cost petrol and depreciation. However, again, you don't want them querying
every phone call and train ticket.

So just charge

contract administration and overheads:

That should sum to more or less what you want to charge. As Richard said,
you don't want to pad your time spent. Businesses that are run as honestly
as possible generally have a better future.
